At these prices, I would love to be able to pay for 10 years of service up front!
Would also love it if you would allow account recovery via certified mail.[**]
My hope is that you would not feature creep too much. Offering video conferencing feels like I should be paying more, but I don't need an office suite, I really just want the email service.
I've been a pretty happy dreamhost customer, because they offer flat-rate email bundled with their shared hosting. However, they:
* do not have API administration
* do not have a catch-all feature
* require that you have another email address on file [**]
* provide service only when you buy a hosting plan for $$$/year
[**] At dreamhost, they require that I have a non-dreamhost account to which they can send recovery codes. This means I can be hacked if someone compromises dreamhost OR if someone compromises proton mail.
Thanks! Wanting to pay for ten years is lovely feedback. We only offer annual billing for now.
We don’t currently offer recovery by physical mail, but I understand why you’d want a way back in that doesn’t depend on another email account. Thanks for suggesting it.
I hear you on feature creep too. Email is our main focus, and keeping it reliable and simple comes first. The other tools are optional to use; you’re welcome to use FranklyMail just for email.
Hi HN, I’m Emin, founder of Naylalabs. For years, we ran email infrastructure for our own team. In August, we opened it up as FranklyMail, and yesterday we crossed 250 paying customers.
The idea was simple: give a small team email on its own domain without another per-person subscription every time someone joins. FranklyMail costs $9/year for an account, with unlimited mailboxes and domains sharing 10 GB of storage. Extra storage is $0.40/GB/year, shared between email and files.
Since launch, we’ve brought calendars, video meetings, booking pages and file sharing into the same workspace. You can go from an email to a calendar invitation with a meeting link, then share the files you discussed. My goal is to build an affordable business suite that covers the everyday work of running a small business.
We build on Stalwart and SnappyMail, and support standard protocols so you can use existing email clients and move your mail elsewhere. You can also manage your inbox through ChatGPT or Claude via our MCP connector, with every outgoing message requiring your review and approval. Our own mobile apps and desktop clients are currently in review ahead of release.
A lot of the work has also gone into making the switch manageable: domain setup, importing old mail and improving the webmail experience. Conversations with paying customers have helped shape what we work on next.
I prepared a short product tour showing the actual product, from domain setup through email, meetings and Drive:
You can find it at https://franklymail.com/. I’m here to answer questions about how it works, the pricing, or what you’d need before moving your team’s email over.
I am excited to see your email product!
I love the
* flat rate service!
* catch-all email
* API
* proper separation of mailboxes and aliases
