Two (echoed) thoughts: if you identify with your job too much, you have no “you” left. This causes a vacuum in retirement. Perhaps it’s best to step back somewhat slowly to make sure you’re decompressing and getting ready for the next step.
I tried to identify with "working hard" as opposed to "my company as my identity" - It was easier to leave things behind with no identity issues.
