Actually I think it’s a smart idea, because it encourages looking beyond the surface of controversies, and shows those who do as the idiots they are.
Except in the WP Engine case, he seems to be doing illegal things and pissing off bystanders. So maybe, just refuse to comment and let people reach their own conclusion.
