This is a totally fair opinion to have, but I think it's a niche one. Most people want a predictable flat rate.
I've paid for cloud services at some non-trivial scale, and pricing them out becomes a big job. Understanding what you're going to pay month to month, how changing one part of your infra changes pricing, etc, is hard. I absolutely don't want to take that work into my personal life.
To me this doesn't really need an analogy at all, but it would be closer to tethering on a 5g plan you pay for with the same constraints you pay for, which is subtly different than the unlimited home server example. I've never let my telecom provider control which device I'm using to access the internet through them.
I'm running Claude Code with Gemma 4 atm and not paying anyone anything, and that's basically what this bridge does as far as I can tell. I dislike Cursor, but was pressured to use it at my last company, and would definitely prefer the CC interface.

Yes. Cursor is significantly better at understanding context without needing a 5 page spec or burning a truckload of tokens. And it's debug mode is top tier if you haven't tried it - people sleep on Cursor.

I think this is a case of LLM dementia. Cursor used to have unlimited "Auto" model usage, although that ended as of September 15, 2025.

You already pay for Cursor. Claude Code costs extra (Anthropic API or Pro). Cursor's auto model is free and unlimited with your subscription.
This is a thin shim that makes Claude Code talk to Cursor's backend instead. One command, no setup, no background daemon, no configuration.
