This one is 11700 yo and 900 meters in diameter, but TIL that people are also fond of looking for fresh (<10k yo) craters [1] as small as 24 metres [2].
Interesting, quite a good find in heavy vegetation.
I’m assuming Lidar could find more of these, like it could find more of the Aztec cities.
Proportionally far more would land, at sea. Some in shallow waters would leave caters, but deeper there should just be meteorite fragments; I’ll have to look that up.
