Everybody is forced to pay for the BBC yet they represent the views of only a portion of the population.
Is the 'being forced', just the tv license, or are there other taxes being paid?
I think you can apply the same logic in any democracy even if it represents your views. The interesting thing here is that their internal control mechanisms worked.
